中学２・３年生 Ⅲ類型 国際交流 in 講堂

11月20日(土)、中学２・３年生のⅢ類型各２クラスが「国際交流特別授業」を行いました。
昨年度はコロナ禍のため実施できなかったので、２年ぶりの開催です。京都大学、京都外国語大学、同志社大学、京都産業大学、京都女子大学の５大学から8か国の留学生２１名に来校していただき、広い講堂で距離を取りながらの実施となりました。
生徒たち３、４名のグループに留学生１名が入ってお話をします。生徒たちは、これまでの学習で身につけてきた英会話力を駆使して、質問したり答えたり、「けんだま」「おりがみ」「あやとり」など日本の遊びを紹介して一緒に楽しんだりと、充実した様子でした。中には、留学生の出身国のあいさつを事前に調べて披露して喜んでもらったグループもあったようです。
特別授業の後、多くの留学生の方が、生徒たちに対して英語学習のアドバイスなどのコメントを寄せてくださいましたので、一部紹介させていただきます。
- The English ability of the third year students was much better than the second year students. I think this is because they are aware of how the entire event would be and have experience with such kinds of events from the past.
- For the 2nd year students: Don’t feel shy or hesitant to speak. The more you speak English, the better you become. If you don’t use it, you won’t know what you know and what you don’t, and so, you won’t be able to improve. But if you guys try, it’s achievable.
For the 3rd year students: They might want to work on their vocabulary. They are confident and want to speak, but their vocabulary is inadequate in situations where they want to express more. A few more words will definitely enhance their communications skills.
- Interacting with you guys was something refreshing for us international students as well. I hope you guys keep on learning and build up confidence. You girls are capable and I believe every one of you can change the world someday. All the best!
- I would also suggest watching English animation or cartoons so that they will get used to the style of communication between different kinds of English speakers.
